Leeds College of Building (LCB) are the UK’s largest construction specialist college, with over 7500 students over 4 different campuses across the city.
Excellent tuition delivered by leading practitioners in their chosen fields of engineering and construction have given the college and enviable reputation.
LCB were looking to appoint a new agency, with a view to refreshing their overall image, whilst creating a consistent visual language and communication strategy across all of their touch points.
We created a campaign, with an overarching idea that fed into everything, from prospectuses to online banners and promotional literature. The idea was simple - ‘Make it.’ The concept worked on several levels; talking to students about being able to start their future with LCB, as well as on a very literal level in terms of physically making things.
The idea allowed us to use different copy for different promotions - ‘Make It Here’ was the line that held everything together for the School Leaver's guide, whilst ‘Make it Happen’ was a perfect fit for the Adult prospectus and subsequent promotions. Working closely with freelance copywriter Jenny Yeardley, we allowed the core idea of ‘making it’ to permeate the copy, whilst ensuring it wasn’t overdone.
We deconstructed the College’s logo and used these graphic elements to work with the photography to create a distinct and ownable look and feel.
